We have always had those moments when some vague but tantalizing concept ventures into the peripheries of our minds. In today’s poem, “Idea,” Katelyn B. artfully and humorously relates her attempts to capture one of these thoughts.
Idea
pops out of nowhere
and surprises me
weaves
in and out
of my thoughts.
I chase it down
and yet
somehow
it usually races
out of sight.
Sometimes
I catch it,
out of breath
but triumphant.
But just as I catch it
the next one
pops out of nowhere
and surprises me.
